Join SMB Leadership Team

We are looking for dependable, welcoming women who want to create meaningful connections, support other women business owners, and help grow the SheMeansBusiness community in their area.

Our chapter leadership teams help each monthly networking event feel organized, inviting, and valuable. Whether you enjoy leading conversations or prefer supporting promotion, hospitality, and event content, there may be a role that fits your strengths.

You do not need to be the loudest person in the room or have years of formal leadership experience. We are looking for women who follow through, care about the community, and are willing to learn.

Each SheMeansBusiness chapter will be supported by a Location Leader and an Event Ambassador.

Location Leader

Location Leaders guide the monthly networking event and help protect the welcoming, relationship-focused culture of SheMeansBusiness.

Duties include: 

  • Attend each monthly chapter networking event

  • Welcome attendees and open the meeting

  • Facilitate introductions, discussions, and networking activities

  • Follow the SMB agenda and keep the event on schedule

  • Create an inclusive, relationship-focused environment

  • Communicate event updates & Membership benefits

  • Complete the chapter dashboard

  • Attend SMB semiannual community events

Event Ambassador

Event Ambassadors support the promotion, hospitality, and social media content needs of their assigned chapter.

Duties include: 

  • Promote the monthly event through social media and local groups

  • Manage check-in, name tags, and light setup

  • Welcome guests and connect first-time attendees

  • Take and upload event photos and short videos

  • Support the Location Leader with event logistics

  • Attend SMB semiannual community events

Leadership Commitment

Selected applicants will begin with a 90-day onboarding period to learn the event process, work alongside the chapter team, and gradually take ownership of their responsibilities. After successfully completing, leaders will begin a renewable six-month leadership term.

Both roles require:

  • ACTIVE SheMeansBusiness membership (annual or monthly)

  • Consistent monthly event attendance

  • Arrival approximately 15 minutes before the event

  • Professional and timely communication

  • Participation in the monthly leadership zoom call 

  • Usage of the SMB Leadership dashboard checklist

  • Attendance at semiannual community events

Active Location Leaders and Event Ambassadors receive:

  • Earn shared membership referral credits toward membership renewal or eligible SMB experiences

  • Recognition through selected chapter and event content

  • Leadership training, resources, and community-building experience

  • An invitation to the Annual Leadership Appreciation Lunch
